APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.
Summer surprised us, coming over the Starnbergersee
With a shower of rain; we stopped in the colonnade,
And went on in sunlight, into the Hofgarten,
And drank coffee, and talked for an hour.
Bin gar keine Russin, stamm’ aus Litauen, echt deutsch.
And when we were children, staying at the archduke’s,
My cousin’s, he took me out on a sled,
And I was frightened. He said, Marie,
Marie, hold on tight. And down we went.
In the mountains, there you feel free.
I read, much of the night, and go south in the winter

NOTICE ONE
Lorem suffers from something known as stress fevers that occur if she's put herself under a lot of stress and her already compromise immune system is unable to cope. Stress fevers causes her to fall ill for often five to eight days, characterised by a high fever, cramps in the arms and legs, nausea, and fatigue. Usually a medication known as iasonas is given to her to help alleviate the symptoms and possibly break the fever if its caught in time but if none is available, she's just forced to wait it out and let the fever burn itself out. Its not a pleasant experience by any stretch of the imagination.
I was wondering if there would be an equivalent to the medicine because she will be falling more prone to this during her time in the game and wanted to know how this will play out for her.
NOTICE TWO
Lorem carries several items on her at all times - A necklace that's a family heirloom, a multitool and comm device that makes the usual scifi beep-boop sounds of buttons being pressed and screens being summoned, and a small vibroknife that, while makes a sound, its a faint 'fwoosh' when its flickered on and off while emitting a blueish glow.
I've read the F.A.Q. about being allowed to keep her necklace and will need to earn back her multitool device but will the knife be confiscated from her person as a result of the sound? If so, will Lorem be informed of it being taken away or will she simply assume it wasn't on her when she arrived?

WORLD HISTORY
In this universe, space is filled to the brim with other planets that is home to other alien lifeforms. Some planets are just beginning to develop life while others plants host races that are lightyears in their advancements of technology, medicine, and culture.
One of these planets is Galateon, a technorganic planet that was once considered a shining gem. It hosts a race of mecahnoid aliens who had so much potential in their hands after they overthrew their colonisers, the Essentialists, who were taking advantage of their resources.
But then an internal schism occurred within the party. Arguments broke out about what to do next. One faction wanted to focus on rebuilding their planet and focus on the resource crisis they faced after the Essentialists had all but bled them dry. The other faction wanted to establish themselves as a race that will not be taken advantage of again, insisting that their only way to survive was to gather their limited supplies and stage an invasion on the nearest and weakest planet to steal their supplies for themselves. Perhaps an agreement could have been reached if the leader of the second group had not been assassinated on the day the negotiations were to occur. The leader's followers, believing they had been betrayed by the first group though no one really knows who really killed Rexus, decided that was the last straw and an act of war.
So soon a once harmonious party became two divided factions - the former becoming known as Automatons and the latter becoming known as the Dreadroids - and that's how the Legacy War occurred. Its known as the Legacy War because their fighting soon spilled out of Galateon and into other planets as both factions scramble to gather many materials and allies as they can to fight the other. Two millenniums will pass. Over a quadrillion lives and counting will be lost in this gruelling cycle of violence and war.
The Legacy War soon found its way to Earth and it soon becomes apparent that this planet, this tiny mudball of a world, will be where the final and decisive battles shall take place. Not only is it considered a 'jumping point' to other galaxies thanks to the Milky Way galaxy's location but because of a discovery both factions learned about Earth - It had been experimented by the Essentialists centuries ago, seeded with experimental and invasive organic ores and chemicals native to the Galatieon's homeworld.
Thanks to the ores mingling successfully with Earth's rich mineral resources, a new version of creathil - the important chemical/element for Galateions needs to survive - was formed. Not only did it boost a Galateions' capabilities and prowess to unimaginable levels, it also solved both the war of resources the Automatons and Dreadroids faced and, quite possibly, could solve the Galateions' resource crisis back home. Centuries worth of war had thinned their numbers and destroyed their home's precious resources. This new version of creathil could save their race.
Earth soon became a game changer for both Automatons and Dreadroids. Both sides made camps there and tried to gather much of the creathil while continuing to fight each other in space or on Earth away from human eyes. Automatons did their best to not harm the environment and not alert the humans' of their presence, gathering what creathil deposits they could find during their careful searches. The Dreadroids had little to no regard for the humans who lived on Earth. They willingly pillaged and raided areas that were rich in creathil, even if it meant entering towns and cities with such swiftness and thoroughness, their actions were considered a force of nature itself and was simply known as 'the Ruining' whenever it came to the unfortunate souls.
More than six centuries would pass since the Legacy War's arrival on Earth. Governments all over the world know about Galateions' existence and have their own way of keeping the peace and keeping their citizens in the dark. Technology and information is heavily regulated and restricted to keep the civilians in the dark about what's really happening on Earth, the bodies of the government holding more power and sway over world events. The public's access to technology and access to information is at best similar to the 70s or, if one's lucky enough, the 90s with more advanced devices and items only being given to those in power or those from influential or wealthy backgrounds.
Information about the Legacy War is classified information and battle zones and Ruined cities are off-limits to civilians, with the government agents and soldiers salvaging what they can to see if anything left behind could be used against the Galatieons before they destroy Earth.
And this is where Lorem's story comes into place.

TRIGGER WARNINGS
Miscarriage. Experiments conducted on a child. Nonconsensual body modification. Brainwashing and emotional manipulation/abuse.
✦ Born on Valentine's Day, 2045, Lorem Laurel's birth is a strange case in many ways.
For one thing - It shouldn't have been possible for her to be born at all. Her mother is a victim of Druxy. Having inhaled the poisonous fumes that were made from the Dreadroids' weapons on the day they invaded Paris and brought about its Ruining, Cerise Laudeville found herself unable to carry a child to full term. After suffering two disastrous miscarriages, Cerise and her husband, Richards Rellins, were ready to call it quits and focus their work in the government's branch of the Galatieon Response Branch (GRB) since they had been informed one more attempt that ended in failure could prove dangerous to Cerise.
Enter Dr. Claudius Sigfred. A mentor to Ruby Clapton, Cerise's best friend, and a fellow for GRB, working in the mysterious Interrogative Research Sector (IRS), he made an impossible offer to the couple: He was more than willing to help them get through a successful pregnancy. Long as they helped him with his project that they only knew was called Project CHALICE. He would be willing to operate on Cerise during the eighth month of her pregnancy and help keep the child alive using a number of implants and devices installed in the baby. The only thing he asked in return was their baby being somehow 'involved' with his work and their willingness to let him do as he pleased.
The terms made the two very uneasy, having heard whispers of how Dr. Sigfred had changed since he joined the IRS. But wth knowledge of Dr. Sigfred's knowledge in robotics on their mind, along with pressure from Ruby, the couple reluctantly agreed if it meant raising a child to call their own. Though they had their misgivings of whether it'll work at all. After losing the last two pregnancies, the couple didn't want to get their hopes up and scribbled down a nonsensical name for their up and coming child on the day of the operation when asked to fill out a form.
'Lorem' after the first word in the dummy text. 'Laurel' after the first three letters of their last names Laudeville and Rellins.
And thus Lorem Laurel is born to the world, a plan already set for her by an individual who saw her more as a thing than a person.
✦ Shortly after the successful birth of Lorem via C-section and 'advanced' prosthetics being implanted in her, Cerise and Richards opted to move to Dust Tumbles and left the military compound they were stationed at the time. Cerise, famous cryptanalyst and linguist, had made the decision to retire from her work after making a name for herself in her fields years ago. She wanted to settle down somewhere quiet after finally getting a child to raise and Richards agreed, the man more than eager to put some distance between his family and Dr. Sigfred.
The sleepy little town of Dust Tumbles was selected since Cerise's father, Louise Philippe Champollion, had a series of important mines and a few businesses there that Cerise could look after.
It's in Dust Tumbles that Lorem will meet her lifelong friends - Laura Costol and Leeds Ascii. Headstrong and passionate Laura will help Lorem develop a sense of (some) independence for herself while gentle and sweet Leeds will be the one to encourage Lorem to follow her passions and interests despite Dr. Sigfred's attempts to manipulate and bully her into following a set plan he had for her as she grows up.
Lorem believed she lived a normal enough childhood while growing up in Dust Tumbles though that was far from the case. Her mother tried her best to be a mother but ended up spending most of her time either working on some pet projects of hers or passed the time by drinkingher guilt away. Her father, a member of the United Council of Countries’ Assistance in International Developments (UCCAID), Urban Search and Rescue division, was away from Dust Tumbles more often than not for important missions or for training new recruits. The only real stable presence she had was Dr. Claudius Sigfred and he was more than happy to take advantage of the situation.
Using the excuse of 'Play Hours' and 'check ups' over the years, Dr. Claudius Sigfred has implanted a number of mind control triggers and deepset coding to program and alter Lorem's behaviour and attitude to a number of things: Her goals. Her dreams. Her responses to people of authority and power over her. All in the name of bringing success to Project CHALICE to life. Lorem only remembers these events as her spending time with her beloved 'Uncle Claudy' in his office, telling him about her day as she grows up, skips two grades during her Secondary Education Courses, and graduated at the age of sixteen alongside Laura and Leeds' side.
At the time, the most Lorem worried about was whether or not she really wanted to go enter college. Her parents and friends were insistent, pointing out her stellar commendations in home economics, arts, and philosophy, but Uncle Claudy insisted she moved with him to his home in Nevada considering her poor health. Uncertain of her decision even on the day of graduation, Lorem begged to have the next two summer to decide on what she wanted to do. Her parents agreed and her friends opted to not enter college just yet, opting to stick around the sleepy, dwindling numbers of Dust Tumbles to try and convince Lorem to join them.
And to think she thought that was the toughest choice she had to make back then.
✦ An Automaton scout who went by the designation of Yellowjacket infiltrated Dust Tumbles, having been given the task to check the supposedly abandoned mines of Dust Tumbles to see if reports of possible creathil deposits were true or not. Lorem came across him when checking out the mines herself that day with Laura and Leeds by her side and long story short? He accidentally kidnapped the trio in an attempt to prevent them from alerting authorities and this triggered a series of events that caused Lorem, Laura, and Leeds to learn about the existence of Galatieons, the Legacy War, and so much more.
Apparently the mines were a great source of creathil. To the point the supplies, if carefully rationed and studied, could turn the tides of war. That was a shock to Lorem and her friends since they (and the general population at large) known the substance as 'decaydium', a nasty subtance that was dangerous to be around, let alone handle. Since the miners were technically the property of Lorem and she and her friends proved themselves capable after saving Yellowjacket, it wasn't long before what was left of the Automatons' Central Command took refuge in Dust Tumbles in their attempt to protect this precious resource.
Soon Lorem and her friends found themselves getting into some wild adventures along the way as the trio (and their ever growing number of fellow human allies) and the Automatons attempted to keep the creathil despoit a secret from the Dreadroids. A lot of things happened over the course of two years from meeting Victoria Faith, to falling (inexplicably) in love with the Automaton leader Phyrric Rege, who seemed to like her in return, and slowly learning the truth about the Legacy War and the effects it had on not only her world but the other worlds out there in space.
Perhaps the most painful revelation for Lorem was learning the truth about Dr. Claudius Sigfred. Believing both humans and Galateions were on the edge extinction following his time in the Interrogative Research Sector, he decided to spearhead Project CHALICE - A program that was meant to create a hybrid race that would have best traits of both species. Even if he had to force Lorem’s body to carry the experimental reproductive systems and implants made from Galatieon technology and brainwash her with a series of deepest codings and triggers to make her more willing to become a 'mother incubator' to the hybrid children.
When his plans were found out and Lorem had been rescued from his clutches after he had kidnapped her, he went hiding and seemingly disappeared off the face of the Earth. Considering how close she was to her beloved uncle and appointed guardian, Lorem was hit hard by his betrayal.
Then came the Siege of Dust Tumbles a few months after learning the truth of Project CHALICE and her role in it. Nemesism, the current leader of the Dreadroids, discovered the creathil deposits in the mines and had his best troops attack the little town one fateful summer's evening. Though the Automatons were able to fend off their enemy, it became clear that the war had to end soon before the Dreadroids' could mount another attack on Dust Tumbles and steal the creathil deposits. Now armed with the knowledge of Lorem's implants and devices, particularly the fact her artificial heart was powered by an ancient creathil crystal, Phyrric Rege decided their best bet was to head back to Galateon and use Lorem's heart to power activate an ancient fortified stronghold whose supplies, in theory, help them win the war.
Feeling like it was her duty to help the Automatons end the war after seeing the terrible Dreadroids in action, Lorem (along with Laura and Leeds, the bestest friends ever) joined the Automatons and headed back to Galateon, knowing the Dreadroids would be chasing after them. After a series of more gruelling events and shocking revelations - like when was Phyrric Rege going to tell anyone that Nemesism was his brother?! - the Automatons were able to bring Lorem to the entrance of the stronghold and have her, at the risk of her own life, activate it with the use of her heart after forcing her to undergo vivisection so the crystal could power it.
It worked. Against all odds - The entrance opened and allowed the Automatons access to weapons, resources, and supplies that gave them an edge over the Dreadroids that the Dreadroids could never recover from. A few months after Fort Anastasium was finally opened, the Automatons emerged victorious and called for all Galatieons to come home. The war is over.
✦ With the Legacy War over, Lorem thought that'll be the end of her troubles and everything would start improving for her and others.
Nope.
To her shock and dismay, Phyrric Rege essentially distanced himself from her using the classic, 'It's not you, it's me' speech when he claimed he had too many duties on Galatieon to focus on a serious relationship. Maybe if she had been older or wiser or more put together, she would have been able to take the unceremonious abandonment with more grace and take it on the chill. But seeing as how she was only eighteen-years-old at the time and went through a lot of traumatic events in a short amount of time, it made a lot of sense to her then that the only solution was to run off and not go back to Earth despite offers to return back home.
Which is why she took up the offer to become the Lonrnful Light's liaison with both hands. Offered a position by an Automaton who went by the designation of Radiance - a charismatic Automaton best known for his recklessness and adventurous ways - she learned his reasons for trying to gather a crew and head off into the great unknown so soon after the war ended: Apparently he had begun getting visions of the Wandering Wonders, the supposed first settlers of Galateions who left the planet to spread the message of unity and the secret of transforming a planet from hostile to habitable. With Galateon still in ruins from the war, and coupled with the revelation that the Dreadroids had knowledge of a prophecy that supposedly spoke of the universe ending if the 'wonders were not discovered', Radiance felt like the only way to save his race and life itself was to find the Wandering Wonders and Lorem had a spot on the ship since, apparently, the prophecy mentioned 'a heart of glass helping guide the light' and guess whose heart is powered by a powerful crystal?
Despite tearful objections and arguments between her and her friends, Lorem agreed to the position and left Galateon a few weeks after the Legacy War officially ended. The last time she saw Laura or Leeds was seeing them depart on an astropod to head back to Earth.
Thus begins six years of wild adventures for Lorem as she travels into deep space on a starship full of technorganics aliens who have no business trying to save the world when they're in all need therapy or a long, long nap. Originally seen as a mascot at best and charity case at worst, Lorem has proved herself to be valuable member of the crew over the years and does her best to give her friends aid - Whether that comes in the form of her listening to their woes or providing them cover with her force shields. From saving the universe from the Decaying Parallel and the Lornful Light crew being blackmailed by Phyrric Rege to secretly transport the stasis-locked body of Nemesism since Galateon wouldn't be safe for the despised enemy of the state, it's been a heck of a ride for Lorem and the gang.
Perhaps the most significant thing to happen to Lorem during her time on the Lornful Light is her ever evolving relationship with Radiance. Originally exasperated with Radiance due to his flighty and restless nature, Lorem saw the leader Radiance could be if he was able to get over his demons and accept the responsibilities and duties that he had to take on if he truly wanted to be a hero to his people. The two learned to work with one another, beginning to admire the other for their strengths and their willingness to work through their weaknesses. Though the two of them had a lot of issues to work out for themselves, it was clear to many that Radiance and Lorem were falling in love. Which leads to him deciding she's his 'everlight' and essentially asking her to get robot married with him.
It felt like things were finally looking up.
Except surprise! There's now an attempt to raise a mutiny against Radiance and his crew, lead by the Automaton extremist Magmaraid. Having been a thorn on the side of the crew the Lornful Light's crew prevented the plans of the Decaying Ones, it seems Magmaraid did not believe Radiance was up to the task of leadership. Especially when Magmaraid learned about Lorem and Radiance's relationship and was disgusted that Radiance would lower himself to become enamoured with an organic, perhaps solidifying Magamraid's belief that Radiance was not fit to lead them in finding the Wandering Wonders.
Finding out about the plot, Lorem and a few friends quickly raised the alarm bells to those who were still loyal to Radiance and was nearly killed in the process because when your smallest Galatieons are human-sized and they can get big as 20 feet, it is a heck of a risk. It wasn't long before a series of intense battles took place on the Lornful Light, both sides fighting to the death to either regain control of the ship or overthrow the original crew that remained true to Radiance and his mission.
Though Radiance and co. emerged victorious in the end, it almost came at the cost of Radiance's own life and the starship nearly imploding in the process. As the mayhem and chaos of the attempted mutiny finally winds down to a close, the exhaustion and stress finally gets the better of Lorem. She soon ends up falling under a terrible spell of her stress fevers and a panicking Yellowjacket rushing to the medbay with her in his arms.
That's the last thing she remembers before finding herself in a strange, quiet town.

Personality
The last eight years of Lorem’s life have been eventful and, in her words, extraordinary.
Extraordinary. She likes to use the word a lot - to the point her friends now like to tease her about it and ask Lorem if that its her catchphrase or something - and she's not ashamed of how often she uses it. Lorem likes to believes its for a good reason. She thinks its the perfect go to word when she wants describe things, events, individuals. No matter how amazing or awful or strange it may be to her - Lorem will not deny that it is still, in its own way, extraordinary. Her life so far has taught her a lot of things and while those lessons may have been hard to swallow, she’s tried to learn from them nonetheless because she wants to improve, wants to get better. Not just for herself but for others.
Because one of the biggest things to know about Lorem is that she loves and she loves a lot. Either from her own personality or from the manipulation she's. She's an emotional individual, expressive in her thoughts and feelings be it through her care of flowers or her fussing over friends. She only wants to help people and its shines in her authenticity, her concern and altruism the moment she learns someone is in need of help. There's a reason why her mother, Cerise Laudeville, liked to send out her daughter out first to meet Lorem's grandfather, the stern and humourless Philippe Louise Champollion, during their rare visits to France, Exuberant Paris. Her earnestness and energy is enough to melt his hard heart and bring a smile to his face. She seems to have that effect on people who get to know Lorem better, see the sunshine and energy in the young woman who is trying her hardest.
When she was younger, Lorem was not ashamed of the fact she had not only a big heart. Nor the fact she wore her heart on her sleeve and everyone and their dog knew it. She was an optimistic individual in her midteens. She believed in the best in everyone, that everyone deserved a second chance to prove themselves. Being soft does not make someone weak. Being kind does not make one foolish. Lorem's strength did not come in the form of physical prowess like Laura or technical genius like Leeds but, rather, from the fact her heart was so big and she wasn't ashamed of it.
But the lessons she’s learned along the way - Victoria’s betrayal, the Siege of Dust Tumbles, joining the Lornful Light and experiencing their adventures - has helped temper and forge her to sterner, stronger stuff. While not exactly jaded, Lorem has come to realise that, sometimes, the world is not a good place and one has to be careful because a fatal mistake of helping the wrong person may mean she can no longer help anyone. She's learned to control her emotions better, learning to not burst into tears or fits if things don't go her way. She's learned to assess people with a more critical eye, not taking them for mere face value after being hoodwinked time and again.
She's found a way to use her soft skills to great use since becoming the liaison of the Lornful Light, her ability to communicate with others so effortlessly and naturally a great advantage when helping reach a resolution between two bickering parties or gently coaxing a sulky Radiance to please do his share of the paperwork. Lorem best excels in taking care of others, making connections, and empathising with the needs and feelings of those she cares about. She is very relationship-oriented, using her desire to help people as her reasons for working hard and working smart.
That said - One shouldn’t forget Lorem is still young. She was only sixteen when she found herself getting thrown into a war she didn’t understand, finding out secrets about her world, her family, and herself at a time she should have been more worried about whether or not she wanted to go to college. Stress and uncertainties and insecurities can still get the better of her, especially during her darker days when she's certain she's useless, expendable. The mind and heart can only take so much stress and fears before having a panic attack or being frozen with indecision.
She’s learned to be more careful. The near mutiny on the Lornful Light and Radiance almost dying has taught her that she needs to be careful, needs to play it safe sometimes in order to keep helping her loved ones and those who will need it in the future. It's something she still struggles with, the desire to be safe clashing with her belief to help those in need period, and is something she's still working on. Progress isn't always an immediate thing. It comes in fits and bursts. It can go forwards or backwards. Lorem knows this and is willing to accept it all the same.
But nothing, and I mean nothing, will stop her from trying to do some good. Will she be careful? Of course. Will she stop doing what she's done all this time? No. It's foolish, perhaps, but that's the way she's lived her life. It hurts to open her heart, to try and help others and it's why she tries to reach out and do good deeds. Even if it might mean she'll get punished or betrayed, she refuses to let go of that fundamental aspect of her personality: To love, to care, to help no matter what. Lorem believes in treating people with respect and kindness, following the spirit of the Golden Rule and certainly believes actions speak louder than words. She continues to try and love to the best of her abilities, refusing to give it up no matter what is thrown at her.

Abilities/Skills:
FORCE FIELD GENERATION
The ability to silently summon a shield around herself and others thanks to the Galateion implants inside of her body. It comes in the form of a pearlescent-like dome that encases her and those closer to her. Its immune to most physical attacks like blows, shots, and so on. From personal experience, it has enough air to last an hour (if she's by herself) or half an hour (if more than one person is there). She's also been able to make the dome 'travel' and expand in size, even able to transfer it from her to another location, but those occassion have been rare and things she's not been able to do at will.
Originally she had been only able to summon it reflexively, pulling out out during times she felt like she was in great distress or danger. Over time she's learned to summon it on command thanks to training she received while on the Lornful Light but she can can only make it big enough to cover herself. It's also taxing for her to use this ability, the overuse of this often the main reason why she had fallen to her bouts of stress fevers in the pass.
'LIAISON DUTIES'
Originally joining the Lornful Light as nothing more but a mascot, Lorem has proven herself for the job after she begins to take her position seriously. Her work focused on building and maintaining the interpersonal relationships with the crew members. This meant she spends a lot of time keeping the others from fighting and doing checks on the well-beings of others if there's a need to intervene. In a sense she was a morale officer for her friends and acquaintances with how she does her best to raise their spirits and see their well-being is taken care of.
As a result she's become adept in diplomacy and business management. She's learned how to not only smooth tensions between angry parties but also how to do write up field reports and read accounting documentation to see if there's any irregularities along with scheduling meetings and going over reports of her officers to highlight errors and fix them. Most of what she knows is from trial-and-error experiences, having been thrown into the position at the young age of eighteen and learning from others around her and from what not to do next time.
HOME ECONOMICS
Where Lorem is from, students are given three commendations - it essentially an all-access pass to her education in a certain field if she had opted to go into college - and one of her commendations was home economics. She's talented in homemaking like sewing and mending clothes and her skills like sewing and cooking have improved while on the Lornful Light. The last two skills had she had to look after herself when her clothes needed to be mended and she admitted to herself one couldn't eat bland rations forever.
She's also a big fan of gardening due to her love of nature and flowers in general. She's been taking care of plants for her entire life and has been able to continue it on the starship too thanks to more or less taking over one of the starship's biodomes for herself. Because of her passion in gardening, she's able to identify plants and flowers with relative success and accuracy.
